Transition Partnership Program (TPP)

The East Valley SELPA together with the California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) assists Californians with disabilities to obtain and retain employment as well as maximize their ability to live independently in their communities.  The Transition Partnership Program (TPP) connects high school students with disabilities to the California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) and assists with their transition to work. TPP helps students overcome barriers to employment.  Assistance may include work-based learning,  vocational training, or post-secondary education.

Each student in TPP throughout the SELPA attends a class during the 11th and/or 12th grade in high school designed to provide instruction in completing job applications, letter writing, interviewing skills and other pre-employment skills.  Every TPP student is assigned to a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor through DOR and a Transition Case Technician through the SELPA. The counselor along with East Valley SELPA staff work with students until they are successfully placed in employment for a minimum of 90 days.
